'Disconnected things, you exist within a kind of truth/And the consequence is a consummated trial of fire,' she sings on 'Always Worth It,' a smart, moody slice of pure pop that's typical of the 11 songs gathered on this debut. Where most pop grabs hold instantaneously, though, Blasko's brand, punctuated by gentle synth, guitar, and piano melodies, takes its time sinking in. The result is a disc more like barrel-aged wine than fast-melting ice cream. But that's not to say some of the lyrics, like 'Between love we make divide/Confusion translates what you can't explain,' from 'True Intentions,' won't give you brain freeze.

She's the singer-songwriter who has been leaving her mark on the music scene since 2004.

And now, for the first time in her career, Sarah Blasko is about to embark on her very own solo tour.

Leaving the band and the backing vocals behind, the 40-year-old will visit all seven states and territories over seven weeks.

Speaking about the decision to perform by herself for the first time since releasing her debut album The Overture & The Underscore, the brunette beauty said it was funny, according to News.com.au.

'It's kind of comical because I'm a solo artist but I'm finally doing a solo tour,' she said.

'This is a great time to do it because I have five albums of stuff to choose from.'

Announcing the tour earlier this month on her website, Sarah said she had been gathering courage after performing support spots overseas.

'I enjoy a challenge and so it feels like the right time to take the leap and finally do some shows on my own,' she wrote.

'It's kind of comical': The tour will cover 14 dates across Australia between May and July

The 14-date tour will take in prominent cities like Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, while also venturing out to regional towns.

It is expected to cover a range of her previous works, as well as new music after she revealed she had begun recording her sixth album.

'I’ll be re-imagining material from all of my albums and premiering some new songs from my sixth album,' she said.

'I’m hoping this will be a really unique, transformative experience.'
